Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will speak at 91涩漫鈥檚 Hanner Fieldhouse on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. During Giuliani鈥檚 term as mayor of New York, he was credited with the economic turnaround and revitalization of the city. Giuliani鈥檚 leadership in the months following the September 11th attacks led him to be dubbed 鈥淎merica鈥檚 Mayor鈥� and named聽罢颈尘别听magazine鈥檚 鈥淧erson of the Year.鈥� Giuliani also received a knighthood from Great Britain鈥檚 Queen Elizabeth II for his efforts. Giuliani鈥檚 presentation at Georgia Southern is titled Principled Leadership: In the Face of Change and Crisis. 鈥淥ur students were children during the 9/11 attacks, and they still remember images of Mayor聽聽Giuliani walking the streets of New York leading emergency efforts, comforting victims, and telling the world that the city would recover,鈥� said Georgia Southern Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Teresa Thompson. 鈥淗is message of leadership, even in the most unimaginable circumstances, will be one our students can carry with them long after they leave 91涩漫. We believe this message will be inspiring, and will give our students a unique chance to hear first-hand from someone who was at the center of one of the most important events of our lifetimes.鈥� While the event is free and open to the public, seating is limited. Tickets to reserve seats for the event will be distributed as follows: Student Ticket Distribution: March 1, 2, 5 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) Faculty/Staff Ticket Distribution: March 6-7 (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.) Community Ticket Distribution: March 8-9 (11 a.m. – 6 p.m.) Tickets will be distributed at the Hanner ticket booth that is located to the left of the main Hanner entrance off of Fair Road.
