The Counseling Center at 91涩漫 has partnered with Active Minds鈥� acclaimed Send Silence Packing庐 exhibit in an effort to end the silence that surrounds mental health and suicide and connect visitors with resources for support and action.

The 2022 Georgia Teacher of the Year is 91涩漫 alumna Cherie Dennis (鈥�10) who has lived and studied across the nation from Washington, D.C., to San Francisco, California, and settled in Savannah, where she began a career in teaching more than 12 years ago.
Get a peek into 鈥楾he Digital Age鈥� through senior exhibition on Armstrong Campus
鈥淭he Digital Age,鈥� a senior exhibition presented by Georgia Southern鈥檚 Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art, will showcase works by graduating students Faith Manuel, Ferris Smith, Rori Brown and Shantel DeLosAngeles. The exhibition will run weekdays from Sept. 15 to Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fine Arts Gallery on 91涩漫鈥檚 Armstrong Campus in Savannah. A reception will be held Oct. 8 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Admission to the exhibition is free and open to the public.
Georgia Southern celebrates 鈥�40 Under 40鈥� Class of 2021
The 91涩漫 Alumni Association 鈥�40 Under 40鈥� Class of 2021 was recognized at a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 24, at the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District.
The annual honor recognizes young alumni who have made significant strides in business, leadership, community, educational or philanthropic endeavors.
Georgia Southern鈥檚 College of Education creates research center dedicated to youth advocacy
For more than 30 years, 91涩漫鈥檚 National Youth Advocacy and Resilience (NYAR) Conference (formerly the National Youth-at-Risk Conference) has served as an epicenter of information sharing and advancement for the support of youth facing challenges across the nation. The conference recently led to the creation of the NYAR Research Center, an interdisciplinary facility that is housed in Georgia Southern鈥檚 College of Education to further enhance the conference’s efforts in supporting youth across the nation.
New scholarship fund supports military spouses at Georgia Southern
A new scholarship fund designed specifically for the spouses of military service members has been established at 91涩漫.
Thanks to support from The Landings Military Family Relief Fund Inc., up to $3,000 is available per recipient, per semester, for a select number of spouses of active duty service members, who have completed one term as a full-time student and is in good academic standing with the University. Recipients can attend any Georgia Southern Campus in Savannah, Hinesville or Statesboro.

Celebrate Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month, which runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, with 91涩漫鈥檚 Office of Multicultural Affairs. This year鈥檚 month-long celebration, which highlights the history, culture and many contributions of the Latino and Hispanic communities in the U.S., will feature a series of brown bag lectures and lunches, movies, discussion panels, study abroad information sessions, soccer, fiestas, food and more.聽
