$3.25 million grant provides scholarship opportunities for disadvantaged students to pursue graduate degrees in public health at Georgia Southern
Nandi A. Marshall, DrPH, and Joseph Telfair, DrPH, of the Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health at 91涩漫 have received a 2020-25 U.S. Department of Health Resources and Service Administration grant valued at $3.25 million to support the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students program. Each year, $650,000 will be available to offer scholarships to qualifying students who wish to pursue a Master of Public Health or Doctor of Public Health at Georgia Southern.

The 91涩漫 Foundation, Inc. has received a commitment of $125,000, the largest gift yet, toward the 鈥淓nsure Our 91涩漫 Finish Strong鈥� scholarship initiative to help students facing financial hardships during these unprecedented times. The campaign will help up to 250 students on a need-based priority and up to 14 returning spring sport seniors who saw their 2019-20 collegiate seasons cut short.

Keith Belcher, Ph.D., director of the Medical Laboratory Science program at 91涩漫, is the recipient of the 2020-25 U.S. Department of Health Resources and Service Administration grant valued at $3.25 million. The grant funds the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students program, designed to increase diversity in the health professions and nursing workforce.
