The Georgia Educational Research Association (GERA) has opened its call for proposals for the 43rd Annual Meeting, taking place Oct. 5 at the Anderson Conference Center in Macon, Georgia.

The 91ɬÂþ Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art will open its 2018-19 exhibition season with its biennial Faculty Exhibition. The exhibition will run concurrently at the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses in August.

91ɬÂþ ecohydrology professor John Van Stan, Ph.D., recently published an article in Nature Geoscience titled “Significant Contribution of Non-vascular Vegetation to Global Rainfall Interception.â€�

Southern Leaders, a 91ɬÂþ undergraduate leadership program, received national recognition as a recipient of the 2018 Association of Leadership Educators (ALE) Outstanding Program Award. The award recognizes outstanding leadership programs implemented by leadership educators that can have substantial impact on individuals, organizations, institutions and/or communities through data.

91ɬÂþ is taking significant steps to prepare more students for highly-qualified positions in the southeast region’s burgeoning logistics’ sector. Now, 91ɬÂþ’s AACSB-accredited Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Logistics and Intermodal Transportation (LIT) program and the BBA in Economics program will be available to students in Savannah through enrollment on the Armstrong Campus.

Faculty at 91ɬÂþ are mentoring undergraduate students from around the southeast this summer as they spend 10 weeks on the Statesboro Campus conducting research as part of the CollaborativE Multidisciplinary Investigations Through Undergraduate Research Experiences (CEMITURE).
Last week during the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Savannah District’s annual exercise at the 91ɬÂþ Statesboro Campus, Commander Col. Daniel Hibner recognized the University staff for their work during Hurricane Irma in September 2017.
