In honor of the second annual Veterans of Foreign Wars National Day of Service, 91涩漫鈥檚 Military & Veteran Services will host informational sessions on Veterans Affairs issues and benefits on all three campuses on May 6. The events are free and open to students, faculty, staff and the community.

Georgia Southern clinic to remove barriers to Parkinson鈥檚 speech therapy in Georgia
The RiteCare Center for Communication Disorders at 91涩漫 is teaming up with a Texas nonprofit clinic to help all Georgians with Parkinson鈥檚 Disease have access to high-quality speech treatment. Parkinson Voice Project, a clinic committed to helping people with Parkinson鈥檚 regain and retain their speech and swallowing, is awarding the RiteCare Center a grant worth more than $280,000 in training, services, supplies and equipment over five years.
鈥楤lack History Trail鈥� launches for Tybee Island visitors
For the past few years, a team of researchers at 91涩漫 has been collecting the stories and historic layout of the island. Specifically, landmarks from slavery and up to the Civil Rights Movement.
As a final product, the team launched a digital trail for visitors to follow; from the Lazaretto Creek quarantine station for enslaved people, to the Brown Cement Factory and other important sites on the island.

There is a diverse range of works to be displayed in 鈥淓mergence,鈥� the newest art exhibition by 91涩漫 senior Bachelor of Fine Arts students featuring various mediums including watercolor, oil, acrylic and mixed media, screen printing, sculpture, animation and photo manipulation. What will be on view at the Center for Arts and Theater on the Statesboro Campus is a display of expression and individuality, concept and aesthetic. However, what is at its core is a rigorous, supportive and close-knit community which allowed these artists to thrive.
